TPDA wants each dancer to receive the level of training and attention that they need. Our leveled program ensures that our dancers are in the appropriate class, which will help them progress at a consistent rate.
We ask that all dancers interested in taking leveled ballet at TPDA participate in a placement class. In these classes, our instructors will evaluate each dancer and place them in the appropriate class.
Pink and Light Blue Ballet are TPDA's introductory classes for students interested in serious ballet. Pink Ballet is appropriate for ages 5-8, and Light Blue Ballet is intended for students ages 7-13.
Once a student has completed Pink or Light Blue Ballet, they are eligible to move up to Lilac Ballet. Lilac Ballet assists students who are wanting to keep developing their skills as they transition out of our beginner program.
Ruby and Royal Ballet are TPDA's intermediate-level ballet classes. These classes focus heavily on developing an increased understanding of ballet, and continue to work on technique and new concepts.
Burgundy Ballet is the first step into TPDA's advanced-leveled ballet classes. Burgundy Ballet is combined with Navy Ballet, and students in this class are welcome to take Black Ballet for additional work on their technique and strengthening.
Navy Ballet is is currently TPDA's second most advanced ballet class. Navy Ballet is combined with Burgundy Ballet, and students in this class are welcome to take Black Ballet for additional work on their technique and strengthening.
Black Ballet is currently TPDA's most advanced ballet class. Student in Black Ballet are encouraged to take class with Burgundy and Navy Ballet, and if these students are part of our pointe program, they are encouraged to do this class in their pointe shoes.
