Ms. Amy taught at Turning Pointe for two years, prior to stepping in as artistic director in 2021. She began her dance training under Becky Payne in Breckenridge, Texas as a child. She has studied under many noteable figures in the dance industry such as Guy Bilyeu, Aileen Natalia, Yvonne Racz-Key, Daniel Catanach, and Mark Lanham. She attended the Capitol Academy of the Performing Arts for one season and was a member of the Ballet Lubbock company. She studied at West Texas A&M University and spent 10 years working with the Pampa Civic Ballet under Jeanne Willingham and Deanna McGill.
Barbara has vast experience having previously owned and operated two of her own successful businesses. Not being one to officially "retire" she has been thrilled to work at the studio and share in the beautiful smiles of our dancers. She enjoys visiting parents and students alike.
Tonja has been a Turning Pointe instructor for over 15 years and specializes in ballet and lyrical dance for teens and adults. Having begun dancing as an adult herself she holds a unique perceptive. She offers each of her students the skills and encouragement they need to feel accomplished and find the greatest joy from their dance experience.
Laura has been a part of the Turning Pointe Family for 20 years. She has had a lifelong love for music, theatre, and dance. She has wonderful gifts for teaching our tiniest ballerinas and tappers as well as our most advanced tap dancers. We are blessed to have her skill and spirit on our staff.
Rachel began dancing at the age of 5 and has been with Turning Pointe since 2005. She joined the teaching staff in 2008. Rachel's primary discipline is ballet, but she also has experience in modern, contemporary, lyrical, and tap. Rachel enjoys working with students of all ages and hopes to help her students find the joy of dance and the value of hard work.
Miss Lexi began teaching at Turning Pointe in 2012, and has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She specializes in lyrical and tap, and has experience in ballet, jazz, and other modern styles. Miss Lexi adores teaching students, young and old, and cant wait for the 2021-2022 dancing year!
Epiphany will be joining the TPDA crew this year and heading up our hip hop and dance team program. She is originally from Austin, Texas and danced pre-professionally for 6 years. Epiphany has been taught by notable choreographers such as Matt Steffania, Ian Eastwood, and Rosero McCoy. She competed for 4 years and placed Division 1. She attended fine arts schools in Austin and is currently a student at HSU. She has spent several years on the Spurs dance team.
Rafaela is blessed to share her love of dance with her students. She began instructing at Turning Pointe 18 years ago and took over management of the studio in 2010. While she retired in 2021, she maintains a presence at TPDA working with our preballet students. She believes in providing each student with a challenge but also something which they can feel good about each week.
